Tom established Thomas Advisors after RWE AG, a large German- based energy company, disposed of all its U.S. assets. He was later promoted to director of federal relations, responsible for Washington’s upstream, midstream and environmental issues in addition to Middle Eastern, Indian and Eastern European affairs. Tom played a role in the AMOCO merger teams with BP and the ARCO acquisition.

Prior to his AMOCO career, Tom practiced law in Ohio and Michigan during which time he started and owned a multi-state restaurant and comedy club chain.
